Bryson City Outdoors solves two problems at once: gear for the trail and a cold beer when you're done. The shop on Main Street stocks the practical stuff: hiking and paddling brands like Merrell, Gregory, Kelty, Marmot, and Jetboil. They design their own hats and tees too. They also rent paddleboards if you're headed for the lake. The other half is the Craft Beer Department. About a dozen rotating taps pour beer and cider, with a wall of over two hundred bottles and cans to take home. They pour wine by the glass or bottle too, and they keep the draft lines clean and dated, which beer people notice. Grab a pour and shop, or settle into the beer garden out back. In the warmer months food trucks park out front, so you can make a full stop of it. String lights and live music turn the patio into one of the cozier hangouts in town, rain or shine. It's the kind of place you wander into for a t-shirt and stay for a flight.

Arrived 20 minutes before closing on a what appeared to be a slow Wednesday night. We wanted to grab a quick pint and pick up some beer to take back to our rental, but we were refused service because they were “closing soon.” Wife was super bummed as she had scouted out the shop and their selection. Edited to ad: Unfortunately, we were not offered the opportunity to buy some to-go beer, but it'd been a lot cooler if we had. Great trip to Bryson though; thanks to the owner for taking the time to respond.

I saw the 1 star review from 2 days ago and almost passed it up, but so glad I didn't. Almost same scene... late Wed, but what an awesome experience! Everyone from the owner, the staff, and fellow customers were great and so inviting and I felt like I was a regular for years. Best of all was the bartender... she was so down to earth and friendly..... she simply rocked and took the experience from great to outstanding! Thanks so much!

We hung out here after dinner one night. Nice outdoor spot. Super cute chill place. Lots of beer options. Good gear selection. The bartender is super sweet!

Visited today, May 23rd, and had a lovely time. The store had a large variety of outdoor gear and of course we enjoyed a beer in the taproom!
