Everett Street Diner
Homemade biscuits and gravy, big breakfast plates, and lunch in a homespun downtown diner where the owner thanks every table.
About
Everett Street Diner is a downtown Bryson City breakfast-and-lunch spot that runs on Southern comfort food and genuine hospitality. The owner tends to make the rounds, stopping by tables to say thanks. The room leans homespun, with local artwork and Blue Ridge photographs on the walls. The biscuits and gravy are what people talk about first, and the gravy in particular has a reputation. From there the breakfast menu spreads out: omelets, grits, corned beef hash, and pancakes you can load with pecans. The Mountain Man platter is built for anyone who skipped dinner the night before. Portions run generous, and the prices stay fair for a downtown address. Save room, because the homemade desserts (the cobbler especially) are part of the draw. Lunch is solid too, but breakfast is the headliner here. One thing to plan around: the kitchen keeps morning hours and closes in the early afternoon. Think of it as a start-your-day stop, not a dinner one. A line out the door is a good sign, and it moves. Come hungry, order the biscuits and gravy, and let them treat you like a regular.

Best eatery in Bryson City? Don't think so. Burned pancakes. Server said she'd take them off the bill, but another server brought the check and they were still on there.
